Established as a lockdown hobby project to stay connected with others during Covid-19 pandemic, Marxism Translated has since expanded rapidly and, with over 80 paid-up subscribers, has a significant readership from both within and beyond academia. Marxism Translated was set up with the aim of making available some of the most significant ‘lost’ texts of classical German-language Social Democracy that have not yet been translated into English, and has developed into a series of regular online discussion groups, a podcast, an audiobook series of the new texts and regular video interviews/discussions with specialists in the field. The project will appeal both to those specifically interested in the remarkable theoretical output of European social democracy and those who wish to learn more about the period more generally.
